A Beauty Industry Beginning By Shayla Loren

One thing that has become very clear to me since beginning a career in the beauty industry is that no part of it is a one-size-fits-all. In order to be a well-renowned and sought-after professional, one must possess many different components and requires a skillset in several different areas of human interaction and communication, as well as the services they offer. Currently, I am attending JD Academy as an esthetician student. Before coming here, I already had some prior knowledge of what I would be getting myself into when starting, and reality has far exceeded my expectations in this program. I am learning skill sets that extend beyond any service I could offer. A professional could be the most skilled in their area, but if they do not possess the communication and personable skills to interact with their clients, their success rate will be much lower than someone who puts the time and positive energy into their clients. I came into my schooling as a new entrepreneur with dreams that needed a pathway to bloom. Every day that I come here, I am inspired and encouraged to think outside of the box and open my mind to any possibility.
My own mantra for my purpose in this industry is to help women learn to love and embrace their natural features through the arts of esthetics, permanent cosmetics, and beauty services. I plan to have my own space offering esthetic, permanent makeup, and eyelash extension services. I want to be a one-stop shop for any clientele that comes through my door. I plan to extend my education even further by continuing to attend additional certification classes and training courses to show my clientele that I am dedicated to them and my profession. I chose this career because I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of women who may struggle to appreciate their natural beauty.
