2023 JD Academy Hosts Hair and Skin Show

The JD Academy, Hair/Skin Show was the brainchild of our president and owner, Ms. Janet Paradiso. A collaboration of well-known professionals in the industry was to bring their talents, education, and worldly experience to Danville, California. Invitations were sent with great anticipation, and planning for this unprecedented event began. The
school was transformed into enchantment! The students participated in all aspects of this exciting adventure. They acted as hosts and models for the amazing Mr. Sam Villa—a recognized, celebrated hair artist of many decades in the beauty industry.

A stage was constructed for Mr. Villa with seating for an audience to watch him display his enormous talent. Students and professionals were able to listen to his invaluable experiences and sage advice. Mr. Villa thrilled the viewers and

demonstrated his amazing expertise in cutting and styling on student models. Mr. Nicolas, also an icon in the beauty business, shared the stage with his wisdom on consultations.

Talent came in a variety of other ways with past alumni, hair stylists, salon and school owners, and product
developers and distributors. They were able to display their tools and talents in different rooms of the school. A braiding bar was set up for the
students to work on each other and anyone wanting their skills. The Esthetic Educators were also available for their expertise in esthetics
techniques in the spa.

Like Cinderella leaving the ball at midnight, teams were set up to support and clean up before turning into
pumpkins. Everyone acted as true professionals in each task and prepared the school for the next day of education.

JD Academy’s intention was to promote learning, facilitate networking/community, and inspire a new generation to this amazing industry. We believe that mission was accomplished while fun and glamour intersected.

Before its inception, some students did not know what a hair show was or had never seen one. Ms. Janet Paradiso
brought this remarkable experience to manifest for students at JD Academy, one they will never forget.
